Games of War!

Well. this weekend sees the start of my tournament season with a two day event at an awesome store called Games of War.

All three of the authors from this blog will be attending so you should have plenty of coverage to follow. I will post the our results after each match so you can follow the ups and downs.

In many ways this tournament is a warm up for future events but I feel added pressure in trying to retain my title, if only for bragging rights!

As has been said before, the tournament is 1750 on the first day and 2250 on the second, with mixed deployments and missions. I've previously ran through the list I intended to use, but my actual tourney list is somewhat different.

My own twist on coteaz lists, with the added durability of paladins and, in the latter case, strike squads.
Anti-horde is something I feel acolyte based lists struggle with, unlike many other forms of grey knight list, and that is the basis on which I chose to add strike squads. In the pure grey knights lists I have use, full strike squads have always been one of the fundamental parts and I feel somewhat naked not having them in my 1750 list. I still believe the 1750 list has the capability to TAC but it requires more finesse in dealing with hordes than the 2250 list.
Against mech armies I feel that the acolyte list outshines the pure grey knight list because I can saturate rhino chassis more easily whilst still keeping the combat presence of the paladins.
In the absence of strike marines, I have turned to psyker squads. This nice little unit throws out a s8 ap1 large blast at 36", albeit not as reliable, but still potent and capable of dealing death at a greater range.

Well those are my thoughts before I head into the tourney, I will report back on how I feel the lists perform and any changes I may make for the upcoming tournaments.

Comments welcome!
